Busy, Busy, Busy!

It's been very busy over here. We have just moved into a new home that is provided through my husbands work. The house is huge and gorgeous and about 4 years old. The rent we pay for this house is very small compared to the other place meaning we can save more for the work on the farm.

We had all of the inspections carried out on the property. The pest inspection came back with no signs of termites. That is a relief! The building inspection came back with a few issues, most of which we were aware of. The last hurdle was the bank.

Being a rural property fiance can be hard to obtain. You need to be aware of past land use, property value and a sizable deposit must be saved. The bank was taking it's time coming to the party. We had to wait on a valuation to be carried out to make sure that we were not offering too much. Seeing as we were able to pick it up for $60,000 under the original asking price, we were confident. On Friday last week we received a call from the lender sating that it was approved! The last hurdle had been jumped and we are now awaiting the final contract to sign and then settlement on the 14th.

So we did it! We now have our little dream farm. Now to save for the work and the move.
